Environmental Review

Adoption of the Downtown Specific Plan Update is subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).  Accordingly, an environmental impact report (EIR) will be prepared to evaluate potential environmental impacts of the plan.  Provided below are key milestones and links to environmental documents pertinent to the Downtown Specific Plan Update.

The City prepared a Notice of Availability of the draft EIR announcing availability of the document. Comments received or postmarked by March 18, 2019 will be accepted. Comments can be submitted in writing or via email to the contact person identified below.

Additionally, public meetings at which comment may be provided are the Downtown Specific Plan Task Force meeting on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 6:30pm and the Planning Commission meeting on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 7pm.

public scoping meetings

In March 2018 the City published a Notice of Preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Report and held two scoping meetings. Staff received written correspondence from six entities in response to the Notice of Preparation.
